For those of you out there who enjoy samosas, there are very many ways in which samosas can be prepared and in one East African country called Kenya and even it's neighbouring country called Uganda, Samosas can be stuffed with beef and eaten for breakfast.
Today, i will show you how you can fill up a pocket of crispy pastry with delicious meat. You can also substitute the minced meat for chicken, mutton or even soy chunks.
Ingredients
- 500 grams of minced beef
-1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
- A half tablespoon of green chillies
- 1 tablespoon of chopped ginger
-1 tablespoon of oil
-1 chopped medium onion
-1 tablespoon of lemon juice
-1 tablespoon of cumin powder
- salt for the taste
- 2 cups of Azam flour
- 2 cups of water
- 2 tablespoons of Oil
- Extra Oil for coating the dough
Method
1. Heat some oil in the pan and then add the meat to it. Use the wooden spoon to help you to break up the meat and allow it to cook until the meat has been turned to brown.
2. Add the green chillies, garlic, ginger, salt and the cumin powder and start stiring the mixture. Allow it to cook for 10 minutes.
3. Switch off the flame which is the heat source and then add coriander leaves, lemon juice and the onions.
4. Put flour, water and salt in a bowl to help you make the dough and then knead it for 10 to 12 minutes.
5. Make sure that the samosas have been deep fried for 3 t0 4 minutes or until they have turned to golden brown.
