Following the letter that was sent by Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) to the various media houses around the country ordering the owners of those media houses to suspend some of the editors and producers of news programs, the diplomats from international community have raised an alarm over the matter and some of these diplomats are from European Union, United States and 14 other countries.
The diplomats have revealed that they are very disappointed and concerned about the excessive force that has been used by the Ugandan military forces on Journalists and other citizens.
This follows the arrest of Kyagulanyi Sentaamu popularly known as Bobiwine who was locked up in Luzira and released on bail on Thursday.
UCC had ordered 13 radio stations across the country to suspend their producers and editors of news and among other media houses were NBS television and Monitor. According to Amnesty International, the order of UCC was a direct attack on media freedom.
