Wema Sepetu is a Tanzanian movie actress, music artist and also a model who contested in a beauty Pageant that was held in 2006 and this beauty contest was called Miss Tanzania. She emerged as the winner of the beauty contest and she was crowned as Miss Tanzania 2006.
Wema Sepetu was born on 28th of September 1988 in a place called Dares Salaam which is found in Tanzania. Wema Sepetu was born in a family of diplomats since her father is a Diplomat.
Her father is called Ambassador Abraham Isaac Sepetu. She was born in a family of four girls and she is the last born of her parents. Wema Sepetu obtained her primary school education in Dares Salaam.
After completing her primary school education, she joined Dar es Salaam Academic international school where she obtained her secondary school education.
After completing her secondary school studies, Wema Sepetu moved to Malaysia where she joined Limkokwing University of Creative Technology and started pursuing a Bachelors degree in International Business.
After studying at the university for a year, Wema Sepetu decided to drop out and follow her dream of becoming an actress by joining the film industry.
Wema Sepetu started her acting career while she was still in primary school in Dar es Salaam where used to participate in drama that was organised in the school that she went to.
By the time she reached University, Wema Sepetu was very passionate about acting and all she wanted to do was just appear on the screens. In 2006, Wema Sepetu joined the beauty contest in a competition where the organisers were looking for the next Miss Tanzania.
The competition was held at Diamond Jubilee Hall that is found in Dar es Salaam and there were more than 20 girls who were selected from different regions around Tanzania that participated in the contest.
Wema Sepetu emerged as the winner of the beauty contest and therefore she was crowned as Miss Tanzania 2006.
The winning prize which was a Rav 4 was presented to Wema Sepetu for becoming the winner of the contest and she was also given a ticket to participate in the Miss World Beauty contest.
Wema Sepetu gained fame and popularity after she appeared in a film called Point of No Return and that was back in 2007 where she acted as the wife of a rich witch guy who has always been killing his girlfriends for sacrifice.
In the movie Wema Sepetu thought that she would also end up dead like the others but as the movie progressed, she was able to pray and that enabled her to save her husband and his entire family.
This film was received very well by the movie lovers and the reviews were very positive. Wema Sepetu has appeared in very many movies and some of the movies that she did appear in are Red Valentine, White Maria, Tafrani, Sakata, Crazy Tenant, Diary, Basilisa and many others.
In 2013, Wema Sepetu decided to launch her own production company that she called Endless Fame Production Company. The company is involved in the movie businesses of Wema Sepetu and also it helps in the management of the music artists that are under Wema Sepetu.
The company has managed music artists that do come from Tanzania and some of these music artists that are managed by this company are Ally Luna and also another music artist called Mirror.
Some of the movies that were produced by this company called Endless Fame Productions are Unexpected, Family, Superstar, Heaven sent, and also Day after Death.
Wema Sepetu has revealed that she has always had the desire to have a child and she was one time in a relationship with Idris Sultan who was one of the contestants in the Big Brother Africa.
Wema Sepetu became pregnant with twins while she was having a relationship with Idris Sultan but unfornately due to the miscarriages that she developed, she lost the twins.
After losing the twins, Wema Sepetu and Idris Sultan ended their relationship and they said that they had irreconcilable differences.
After sometime, Idris Sultan revealed that he was the one who decided to end the relationship by dumping Wema Sepetu after she broke his heart several times.
He continued by saying that it was not an easy decision to make and that it took him about six months before he could just forget about her.
Wema Sepetu also one time dated Diamond Platinumz and even one time she revealed that the man she thought she would be spending the rest of her life with was the Tanzanian music artist called Diamond Platinumz but all that fell apart when Zari Hassan came into the picture.
After sometime Zari Hassan also decided to end her relationship with Diamond Platinumz after some videos showing Diamond platinumz having a good time with Wema Sepetu emerged online.
In 2018 in the month of July, Wema Sepetu was arrested for being found in possession of illegal drugs and she pleaded guilty to the charges that were administered by the Kisutu Resident Magistrates court that is found in Dar es Salaam as a result of this crime, she was sentenced to one year jail-term or she was ordered to pay a fine of 2 million Tanzanian shillings.
This was the time when the Tanzanian government was cracking on the illegal drugs that had become so rampant in the country.
Some of the music artists who were found to have cases to answer in relation to illegal drugs were Vanessa Mdee, Diamond Platinumz, Ray C, TID, and Idris Sultan among other celebrities.
Wema Sepetu is an inspiration to all the youths in Tanzania especially the girls who look up to her for inspiration and are also planning to join the entertainment industry.
She continues to inspire and entertain her audiences through her movies and also music.
