Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs who is popularly known as Olu Jacobs is a Nigerian actor who has appeared in very many British and Nigerian movies.
Olu Jacobs was born on the 11th of July 1942 in Kano which is found in Nigeria.
Olu Jacobs’ parents were from Egba Alake. Olu Jacobs spent his early childhood life in Kano where he was born and it is the same place where received his primary school education and a school called Holy Trinity School.
During his time at the primary school, Olu Jacobs was very actively involved in the debating and drama societies.
Olu Jacobs was inspired to join the world of acting after he attended a party that was organised by Hubert Ogunde and it was called his annual concert party and this party was took place at Colonial Hotel which is found in Kano.
Olu Jacobs later obtained a visa that enabled him to travel to England where he joined the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts which is found in London. Olu Jacobs studied acting and got some good training in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
After completing his studies, Olu Jacobs starred in very many British films and series in the 1970s. Some of the British movies that Olu Jacobs appeared in are The Goodies, Till Death do us Apart, The Venturers, The professionals, The Tomorrow people. In 1978, OIu Jobs appeared in Micheal Codron’s play that was called Night and Day.
The character that he played in the play was called President Mageeba. In 1980, Olu Jacobs starred in very many international films and some of the films that he appeared in were the ones that were made by John Irvin called Dogs of War, Baby: Secrets of the lost Legend, The Witches and the Grinnygog.
After those British films, Olu Jacobs returned back to his native country called Nigeria and he has since appeared in very many Nollywood movies.
Olu Jobs has now starred in over 120 movies that were made in Nigeria in the Nollywood movie industry. In 1989, Olu Jacobs got married to his sweetheart called Joke Silva who is also a Nollywood actress. Their marriage has been blessed with children.
