BIOGRAPHY: INSPIRING STORY OF LEVIXONE

Levixone who was formerly known as Leviticus is a Ugandan gospel artist and songwriter who has become one of the top gospel music artists in Uganda and also in East Africa. 

The real name of Levixone is Sam Lucus Lubyogo.Levixone was born in 1993 at a place called Kosovo in Lugujja which is found in the central part of Uganda.  Levixone was the first born of the ten children that his father had although his mother was different from the mother of his other nine siblings. 

 He lived with his stepmother and father. 

Levixone went to Joseph Mapeera primary school which is found in Lusaze where he studied from primary one up to primary five and had to drop out of school after his father refused to pay his school fees.  

He later decided to run away from home. According to Levixone, he spent part of his early childhood on the streets living as a street child. Levixone grew up on the streets of Kosovo found in Lugujja. 

Levixone used to make bricks so that he could sell them and then be able to make some money for him to buy some food and other essentials. 

But one time after making some bricks, he approached one man who claimed that he wanted to buy the bricks but unfortunately, the man refused to pay him after he worked hard on making the bricks. 

He decided to tell his ordeal to his friends who mobilised in numbers and decided to destroy the bricks one at a time. 

That was the last time he ever made bricks.  He now decided to go on search for a job and a certain good Samaritan decided to give him a job of selling water to his customers. 

The drinking water which was packed in small white polythenes were to be sold by him to different customers.  

He did this job for sometime, he would make the day’s sales and then give the money to his boss who would pay him a certain percentage of the profits made and life seemed good until one time when he slid and fell down and all the water in the polyethenes poured onto the ground and when he reported back to his boss, the boss forced to work and pay up all the money that was lost when the water poured down onto the ground.

 Levixone worked hard and then he was able to pay up all that money and he decided to quit that job. 

He then went on another job search around the suburbs of Lugujja and he was able to get another job as a pool table attendant. 

He said that after doing his job he would spend the night under the pool table where he actually slept. 

Levixone said that he would use the cloth for covering the pool table to instead cover himself.

 There was a time when it rained and the pool table became very wet since he had used the cloth to cover himself, he had left the pool table open. 

When his boss found out that it was negligence that led to the pool table to become wet, he was fired from the job and again he became jobless again.

 Levixone also said that he once sold illegal drugs like marijuana and cannabis in the streets of Kosovo during his teenage years. 

He was one time arrested and beaten up by police men and after that incident, he stopped selling the illegal drugs.

 Levixone also revealed that one time he was very hungry while living on the streets and he decided to steal food from one of the women around that area while it was being cooked.  

He said that the woman made an alarm and people started chasing him but he was not caught.

  He said that one time one of his friends who was also a street child was caught and beaten up by some people who were claiming that he had stolen something. 

Although they did their best to save his friend, it was not possible and his friend died a painful death. 

From that day, Levixone said that he realised that he had to change his lifestyle and that was when he decided to seek for some spiritual intervention.

 He then decided to look for a nearby church where he could seek for some spiritual intervention and found some youths singing and performing in church and these youths were being offered money by the congregation. 

He also decided to try his luck and start singing and the congregation liked his song and that day he received lots of money. It was at that time when he met music artists Crystal Fabulous and Mac Elvis. 

These two music artists mentored him and became a very big influence on his musical journey.

 He also came into contact with a non-denominational Christian international development organisation that later helped in paying his school fees for his primary and also secondary school education. 

Some of the songs that have been done by Levixone are Esaala, Turn the replay which is now very popular on the airwaves, Edoboozi, Jungle, Ani, Samaanya, Shuga, Hossannah among others. 

 He did the song called shuga with another Ugandan music artist called Daisy Ejang.  

He has been collaborating also with music artist Bebecool and also the Under Cover brothers Ug. 

Levixone has just had his 2018 concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval which was massively attended by his fans and the concert also had other music artists from Kenya and other countries performing at it.

 He had named the concert ‘Turn the replay’ after his hit song that has now gone viral. He was offered a car at the concert as a gift. He is one of the top gospel music artists in Uganda.

Levixone is a talented Ugandan music artist who continues to inspire very many Ugandan youths through his inspirational and life changing music.
