Gaetano Jjuuko Kaggwa is a Ugandan radio presenter, actor and television
personality who came into the limelight after participating in the Big Brother
Africa competition that was held in South Africa in 2003.
Gaetano Kaggwa was
born in Kampala on 22nd June 1972.
Gaetano Kaggwa went to Kenya when he was still young and spent some of
his childhood years in Kenya before moving on to Lesotho in Southern Africa
where he managed to complete his high school education.
After completing his high school education,
Gaetano Kaggwa joined the University of Wisconsin found in La Cross in the
United States where he obtained a degree in political science by the end of
1997.
Gaetano Kaggwa decided to pursue a
degree in Law at Makerere University and while he was in his third year,
Gaetano Kaggwa was chosen to represent Uganda at the premier of the Big Brother
Africa series that took place in 2003.
Gaetano Kaggwa was able to finish in the
fourth place behind the contestant from Botswana who was called Warona
Setshewaelo.
The most remembered thing about Gaetano Kaggwa in the Big Brother
house was his romance with the South African housemate who was called Abby
Plaatjes.
Gaetano Kaggwa was able to win the chance to swap places with the Big
Brother UK contestant who was called Cameron Stout this was after winning the
cocktail making challenge.
He caused media outrage while in the UK after he
called Tania a ‘piggy’ and this made her
shade tears and he vowed to quit the
house an never go back in again.
After his stint in the Big Brother house,
Gaetano Kaggwa landed a job as radio presenter at Capital FM in Kampala where
he was hosting the morning show and after that he also worked at Vision voice
FM which is now called XFM that is owned by the Vision group of companies.
Gaetano Kaggwa was later transferred to Kenya
where he worked as a radio presenter at Capital FM which broadcasts at 98.4 FM.
Gaetano Kaggwa also landed a job as the host of the Studio 53 which is a series
television program that was organised by M-Net.
Gaetano Kaggwa then later
ventured into the world of acting where he featured in Nana Kagga‘s television
series which was called Beneath the Lies and in this series he acted as Abe
Ssakku.
The television series was directed by Joseph Katsha Kyasi and it was
done by the company called Savannah Moon Productions.
In 2006, Gaetano Kaggwa
was also chosen as the host of the Tusker Project Fame which was a singing
competition that was airing on television.
In 2016, Gaetano Kaggwa was also
selected as the host of the NSSF Friends with benefits alongside the gorgeous
Crystal Newman who used to work at Sanyu FM.
In 2009, Gaetano Kaggwa got
married to Enid Kushemeza. He is a very
inspirational figure to Ugandan youths out there who look up to him as their
role model.
