There are very many people out there who have always wished to start their own businesses but the fear of failure and the prospect of getting your idea off the ground becomes very intimidating to most people out there.

There are also some very many statistics that will push you down like the number of businesses that do not celebrate their first birthday in Uganda and many other statistics will pull you down. 

Today, I will give you some tips on how you can actually start and grow your business from scratch and push it up until it is very successful. 

Here are some great tips that will help you run a very successful business.

1.  You must have a plan for your business

According to Benjamin Franklin, if you fail to plan, then you are actually preparing to fail. This is actually very true in the world of start-ups. 

Some times upcoming entrepreneurs become very excited when they develop the idea of a business and they forget the crucial stage of actually planning for their business. 

If you build a business plan, it will help you to know the direction that your business will take. After launching your business, the business plan that you have developed will help you know the future of the business. 

After you have done the market research, developed the marketing strategies and also analysed the possible competition for your business, then you know that your business is ready to go.

2. You should identify what you are good at before you can launch your business

If you are able to know what you are actually good at before launching your business, you will be able to concentrate your energies in doing that and then delegating the rest of the activities to other people who are skilful enough for the tasks.

 If you are good at design and lack some good management or book keeping skills, then you will need to hire some good book keepers or accountants that you do actually trust to come help you in that area. 

If you are working up to your skills and that of other people who are helping you to achieve success, you will get there faster and easier. Success is achieved by developing our strengths and not by eliminating our weaknesses.

3.  You should develop the knowledge for Finances

Finances are one of the most important aspects of your business and you should make sure that it is one of your top priorities simply because they are the lifeblood of your business.  

You should always keep your financial projections realistic and make sure that you think twice before you actually take on a loan from a bank and ask yourself whether you do need that loan. 

You must also have a solid plan for the repayment of the loans that you actually take to avoid the demise of your business.

6. Build a Marketing strategy for your business

When you are starting your business from scratch, it is very necessary to have a marketing strategy so that you can build a solid brand that can compete favourably in the market. 

If people do not know anything about your business, then you will not have any customers or business. 

You can use social media marketing to capture some of the customers or even add some of the customers to your email listings. This will help you when you are launching new products or giving important information to your customers.

7. Find Mentors for your business


The road of entrepreneurship is not easy and you will need some good mentors along the way to help you move forward and take your business to the next level.

 Ensure that you choose people who have succeeded in the business that you are doing and also people who are knowledgeable. 

These people will guide you in the right direction and they will give you some vital advice that will help you achieve success quickly.
