In this world we go through tough times and the only thing that can get
you out of such situations is when you develop some good mental resilience and
attitude that can help you to stay strong irrespective of the situation that
you are actually going through.
Here are some great tips that can help you
develop your resilience mentally and take you to the next level in life.
1. You should
increase your tolerance for pain
In order to effectively train your mind so that it is resilient, you
will need to increase the amount of pain that you can actually tolerate.
You
can achieve this by letting go of how things are actually supposed to be and
then accepting what is actually happening to you.
You should develop the habit
of having no expectations or the feelings of entitlement in your life. These
are life perspectives.
When you feel that you are entitled to something better
or you want something that is easier in life, you are going to place yourself
in a position where by what you actually expect will not be met.
This kind of
behaviour will cause you to be hurt and it will also make you lose control of
your life.
When you realise that in life
some fights are involved if you want something, it means that you are now at
peace with the problems that life actually throws at you and you are now
gaining control over how you actually do feel and think about your life.
This
kind of mindset will help your tolerance increase since you will most likely be
focused on the solution of your problem rather than the pain that you are actually
going through.
2. Make sure
that you do have a powerful support system around you
Sometimes we do feel like we can actually do it all ourselves but the
truth is that having a support system in our lives will help us more than we
actually would imagine.
If you are going to develop mental resilience that is
powerful, you will need to know when actually to ask for help from people who
are willing to help you.
There is actually a lot of strength in knowing that
you are actually feeling vulnerable and do actually need someone’s hand to help
and support you.
3. You should
start taking responsibility for your own feelings
It is easy for very many of us to blame others for the things that did
not actually work out well in our lives.
To most of us this habit of blaming others takes the pain off our
shoulders and creates excuses for our failures.
This habit of blaming others does
not actually build our mental resilience. You should learn how to take
responsibility of your feelings when they have been hurt by someone else and
this kind of attitude will build your mental strength.
This will help you build
your emotional toughness on the most scary feeling that you will face and that
is pain.
5. You should
develop the habit of being alone.
Many people fear being alone and they think that if you are alone
something bad is happening to them or they are not loved much.
If you truly want to develop your mental
resilience, you will need to learn to be alone and also you will need to have
some time just for yourself at least once in a week.
When you spend time alone,
you are more likely to think deeply about your life and also you will be able
to avoid distractions in your life.
Iam not trying to say that you should
completely isolate yourself from others but if you can just give yourself
something like afew minutes to meditate about your life, you will be able to
learn how to take control of your life, feelings and most importantly mental
strength.
You should learn to schedule your alone time and this could be just
one hour or even just 5 minutes.
The difference between the successful person
and others is not the lack of strength, not lack of knowledge, but it is rather
the lack of a will to do certain things.
6. You must
learn to love those who actually do hate you
According to the teachings of Buddha, the best way to let go of our
pains is to love those who hurt us.
This
may not go well for you but think about it in a different way, when you are
able to forgive those who hurt you, you are actually gaining more control over
your feelings and also your mindset.
This
is one of the most important aspects that will help in building your mental
resilience. You will be able to take away the power of someone else who gained
it by hurting you.
If you are able to overcome the anger and the need for
revenge, the actions of the person who actually hurt you will not affect you or
control you in anyway.
