The only way that you can actually become a great achiever is to achieve
the goals that you actually set out to achieve in your life.
If you cannot
achieve your goals in life then Iam telling you that from my own way of
thinking, you are actually not an achiever.
Every day is a good day for us to
learn and become better human beings and therefore I believe that if you have
never achieved anything good in your life, then this is the best time for you
to learn and also become an achiever in life.
What do you think makes some
people become achievers and while others become failures in life?
To me, I
think the circumstances that surround us should not actually influence our
outcomes in life and these bad environments that we end up in unknowingly and
without wishing to be in should not stop us from achieving the most important
goals in our lives. There is one major
aspect that makes up the difference between achievers and non- achievers.
Non-achievers give their goals very little attention or some even do not give
their goals any attention or even just putting some thoughts into their most
desired goals.
While others do not even have goals that they are actually
actively chasing in life. For the achievers, these are people who pay close
attention to their goals and they keep chasing their goals no matter what
happens in their lives.
Some non-achievers will reach and attain somebody
else’s goals and without putting in much effort or emphasis onto their own
goals in life. if you want to become a great achiever, you must give your goals
enough time and effort .
Your attention should be focused only on the most
important goals in your life and you should be able to stop other distracters
in life that will affect you.
This actually means that you must withdraw your
valuable attention from some of the activities that are not going to add
anything to your progress towards the goals that you actually set out to
achieve in your life.
You should be able to discover some of the activities
that actually occupy most of your time during the week. You should be able to
know where you spend most of your time during the week.
If you are not so
obsessed about your goals and dreams then the truth of the matter is you should
be obsessing about your goals and dreams instead of spending very many hours
watching television or movies that will not even help you achieve anything in
your life.
The people who achieve a lot in life are very aware that in order
for you to achieve a lot in life, you should be able to keep your attention
onto things that will add value in your life and help make your life better in
the long run.
Great achievers always keep putting their attention into the
things that they value and into the things that they hold very dear to
themselves.
Attention is
a very scarce commodity that great achievers value
Attention is one of the limited resources that we cannot afford to
squander and just give away to anyone.
If you truly want to be progressive in
life, you should be able to determine the things that will be beneficial to you
in the long run. The things that will help you achieve the most important goals
in life.
These are the things that you should actually focus your attention to. If you can develop your ability to direct
your attention consciously with great energy and focus on the things that are
very beneficial to you, you will become a better human being in the long run.
I
do believe that attention is more scarce than time for us today than it was
some twenty years ago.
I do believe that in his era of social media sites, you
will need to learn how to give more attention to your goals and dreams than
doing things that will not add anything to the most important goals in your
life.
Your attention is very scarce and therefore you will need to guard it
very well to help you achieve the most important goals in your life.
There is a
goal that is screaming within you and that is your goal-oriented voice that is
telling you actually do the right thing which is to give your scarce attention
to activities that will bring you closer to the life that you have always
dreamed and hoped to live.
You should be
able to put your goals first
There are very many great achievers who have a variety of
responsibilities that they would have to do and all these responsibilities
bring in competing commitments that they have to actually fulfill.
One thing that separates these great
achievers from everyone else is that they do not use these commitments as an
excuse for not pursuing the most important goals in their life.
These people put their goals first before any
other activity that will take away their attention.
For all those who use the
excuse of having kids, jobs and other responsibilities for not setting their on
desired goals and dreams, there are achievers who actually started from a more challenging position and these people used
those same circumstances to help them to
achieve more out of life.
You should be
willing to say no to almost everything
If you have the ability to say no to very many things in life, you will
have the ability to chase your goals and dreams.
The true difference between
the very successful people and the successful is that the very successful
people will always say no to everything around them and do everything that is
possible in their power to help achieve the most important goals in their life.
So if I can ask you this thought provoking question, what does it actually mean
to say no to almost everything?
To me, I do believe you should be able to work
full time on your goals without letting anything get in your way.
It means that
you should be able to keep your schedule free from other engagements that might
demand part of your attention.
It means that if you are called to work upon
goals that have been set by someone else, you are willing to say no however
rewarding or tempting these goals might be.
You should have the ability to
avoid half commitments and instead put your full commitment on your goals and
this includes the goals that you have actually made your own.
You should be
able to direct your attention towards your goals
If you are to achieve the most important goals in your life, then you
should have the will to direct your attention towards your goals and avoid
anything that will push you away from your goals in life.
The good thing about
us is that we have the power to control our attention and only focus it on
things that will make us better human beings.
You can decide to let your
attention be diverted into things that will not add value to you or you can
decide to keep your attention on things that will help you achieve your goals
and dreams.
This is a choice that we make everyday knowingly or unknowingly.
Setting goals requires some level of attention and even planning the goals and
taking the necessary steps that can help us achieve these goals will also
require our attention.
Almost everything
in life requires our attention to be able to change for the better. If you want
to become financially independent, you should be able to focus your attention
on providing value for people who will be willing to pay for it.
If you want to
change your relationships for the better, then you should be able to give your
relationships attention that is intense and prolonged.
If we want to improve
our life, we will need to put our attention and focus on areas in our lives
that are doing bad and urgently need our attention.
So the truth is that
setting goals require attention and also planning out the activities to achieve
those goals will actually require our attention.
The most important thing about
great achievers is that they will always ensure that they are moving according
to their plans and make those activities their priorities.
In order to achieve
your goals, you will need to nurture them in a prolonged and significant manner
or else these goals will actually die in the long run.
If you want to become a
great achiever, you should avoid setting short term goals like making money and
instead focus on setting goals that will help you grow, build your skills,
create value for other people and create something that is valuable in the
world.
You should develop the habit of deliberately putting yourself in your
goals. For example if you are waiting for the line to reduce at the bank, you
can start thinking about your goals.
You should begin visualising yourself
taking action steps that will help you in achieving your goals and you should
be able to make this your default behaviour instead of using this valuable time
to scroll through Facebook posts or WhatsApp updates.
You can be able to devote
your time to your goals and achieve more than you actually anticipated in life.
Many successful people are doing it and I do know that you are able to do it
