Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has attacked the
United Nations for supporting terrorism in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In early December the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) are said to have killed at least 14 Tanzanian UN peace Keepers in the Democratic Republic of Congo which has been described by analysts as the deadliest attack ever on the UN peace Keepers.
While meeting the UN Special Investigations Team, led by DimtryTItov, the President said that the UN operation in the DRC was partly a conservation of the terrorism.
He said that terrorists are weak and cowards that is why they have not made any significant progress for a couple years and if they were strong, by now they would have achieved a lot.
President Yoweri Museveni said that it should be the people of that area who should help in the fight against terrorism not the foreigners that the United Nations recruit.
He said that friendly forces like the Uganda People’s Defence Forces should not come into replace the people who stay in the affected area but just to give them support.
The President informed the UN delegation that Uganda has been hosting over 500,000 refugees from DRC on top of the 1 million refugees from South Sudan.
