Patrick Idringi who is popularly known by his stage name called Salvador
is a Ugandan Engineer, Comedian and radio personality who rose to fame and
fortune after participating in the comedy competition called Stand Up Uganda.
Patrick Idringi was born in west Nile region of Uganda in a Kakwa family.
He
was born in family of seven children to Mr. Lawrence Dawa and Mrs. Lawrence
Dawa who lived in Koboko district. Patrick Idringi has three sisters and also
three brothers in his family.
He started his education at Our Lady of Africa
nursery school and then he proceeded to Kiswa primary school where he had his
primary school education and then he later joined St. Charles Lwanga College
found in Koboko for his ordinary level of education.
After completing his ordinary
level of education, Patrick Idringi joined Bishop Cipriano Kihangire secondary
school found in Western Uganda for his Advanced level of information.
After completing his high school education,
he proceeded to Makerere University where he studied a Bachelor of Science in
Telecommunication Engineering. After completing his degree at Makerere University,
he got a job as a Switch Engineer at MTN Uganda.
Patrick Idringi said that in
his childhood he had always wanted to become an Engineer and he worked very
hard to achieve those Engineering goals that he had set out for himself.
While
at school his classmates used to praise him for the jokes that he cracked and
called him funny.
At that time Patrick Idringi did not know that a person can
earn some income from just making people laugh.
He decided to call himself
Salvador after cracking a joke about a girl who dropped her groceries at the
Super market after seeing him and ran to him while calling out Salvador.
Salvador was a name of an actor in a South American Telenovela called second
chance that very many women loved and dreamt about in Uganda.
There was one
time he was in love with a woman who later decided to dump him because he
cracked jokes that were sexual and got his money from comedy.
The comedy has
opened doors for this Ugandan Engineer whereby he was able to get a job as a
radio presenter on Capital FM hosting a show called Dream Breakfast alongside
Tatu and Shawn.
In 2010, Patrick Idringi
was nominated for the Young Achievers Awards just seven months after joining
the comedy industry and that is what it means to make an impact in an industry.
Patrick Idringi alongside other comedians like Daniel Omara and Emmanuel
Sebakigye formed one of the biggest comedy groups in Uganda called The Crackers
and the group was also behind the Mic Check series of comedy that were showing
on NTV.
He has represented Uganda in very many comedy shows including the Night
of a thousand Laughs. From Corporate life to a comedian. He is really an
inspiration to very many Ugandans.
